Changing Tables...

We recieved a dresser for baby's room from my grandparents. It's a chest dresser so it will not work for a changing pad/table. Does anyone else have a seperate changing table? Do you use it and was it worth the purchase?

If pregnant, what are you planning on getting/using for changing table?

DH and I are leaning towards not getting one but I want to hear more opinions and thoughts regarding changing tables.

Re: Changing Tables...

  • We didn't use one. For the first couple months she slept in the pack'n'play that had a bassinet that vibrated and had lullabies. It also had a changing table attachment. Then we transitioned to the crib we just changed her in the crib or on our bed. Durin

  • Our changing table is also his dresser. I don't have any pics of it on my phone but you can put the changing pad on top of his dresser.

  • I'm not much help because ours is a crib/changing table combo, but we seriously use it every single time he needs a diaper change.

  • We have both a chest of drawers and a lower dresser.  Her changing stuff is all on the lower dresser.  If you have the space for something I'd do another shorter dresser with a changing pad on top.  The drawers are great storage for anyt

  • At the moment the plan is to just put a changing pad on top of the dresser.  If we end up needing more storage, I might buy another dresser/changer combo to put the pad on.

  • I guess some of it depends on your house as well. I know I really like having a place to change her in the living room. Going back to her room to change her every time would be a major PIA! But I can totally see where cloth diapering would make you want t

  • We have a changing pad on her dresser but I think I am changed her there twice. I usually change her with a changing pad on our bed, the floor or in the PnP attachment downstairs.

  • We don't have a separate changing table. We put a changing pad on the dresser with the top drawer having all the supplies for diaper changes. It worked great when he was little and didn't move. Now he is crawling and won't lie still for a diaper change we

  • We have a separate change table and dresser and I love it. It gives us lots of extra storage

  • We also just use a pad on top of her long dresser and it works great.  We do probably 95+% of her changes at home up there even now at 2 years old.  We find it easiest since all the supplies and Diaper Genie are up there already.

  • We have a changing pad on top of her dresser and do almost all changes there.  She is super squirmy now and I feel like she is more manageable there than on the floor.

  • We have the PNP set up downstairs for diaper changes, and bc he sleepsin our room, the changing pad is on top of our dresser. When we mve him to his room we'll move it there. Our dresser was sold as a dresser/changing table. We will stop using the PNP so

  • We have a tall dresser, too.   I bought a used changing table on craigslist for $30.  It is made of wood and is white so matches our crib.  we have a one story house, so exclusively change her there.  It is great-- i store her
